“Introit in the Snow” “Yuki no Naka no Nyūsaishō introit” (雪の中の入祭唱 〜introit〜)

Today is Yuichi’s first day at the local high school, and is admitted into Nayuki’s class. As Yuichi is walking home to buy food for dinner, he runs into Ayu Tsukimiya, the girl from the day before, in the exact same situation. As they are walking home, they run into a quiet first-year student. When he goes to shop for groceries, a mysterious girl attacks him, but is exhausted from hunger.

対決 Taiketsu Confrontation

As criminals begin dying from inexplicable heart attacks left and right, Interpol convenes to discuss the phenomenon. Unable to come up with an explanation for it, they turn to the world’s top-ranked detective, L Lawliet, whose true identity is a well-kept secret. L speaks to the Interpol representatives through a computer and an electronic voice, promising them that they are dealing with mass-murder and that he will soon confront the killer whom the general public has been calling Kira (a play on the Japanese pronunciation of the English word killer). This displeases Light, who has been going to great lengths to keep the Death Note hidden, since learning that Ryuk becomes visible to any who touch the book. L tricks Light into revealing that Kira lives in Japan’s Kanto region with a fake television broadcast. Having played right into L’s hands, an enraged and humiliated Light swears to eliminate L.

現実(リアル)にようこそ! Riaru ni Yōkoso! Welcome to Reality!

After recovering from the offline meeting, the group ends up getting checked into a hot springs resort courtesy of Jōgasaki, who also contacts the families of the internet group. Their loved ones come and show them that their lives mean something. Tatsuhiro and Misaki are still on bad terms until they meet for one more meeting.

魔神が生まれた日 Majin ga Umareta Hi The Day a New Demon was Born

The story follows Lelouch vi Britannia, exiled prince of Britannia, who is living under the identity Lelouch Lamperouge. His former identity was declared dead seven years ago when Britannia conquered Japan, now renamed Area 11. In the present, Lelouch is trapped inside an anti-government terrorist truck as it flees from the Britanian military after stealing a container of poison gas. During the pursuit, Lelouch is reunited with his Japanese friend, Suzaku Kururugi, who is part of the military. The container opens and reveals a girl with green hair causing Suzaku’s superior to issue an execution order on all witnesses. Suzaku refuses and is shot while Lelouch flees with the girl. Cornered by the military, the girl gives Lelouch a power called Geass before dying. With it, Lelouch commands his attackers to kill themselves.

“Silver Overture” “Hakugin no Jokyoku overture” (白銀の序曲 〜overture〜)

Yuichi Aizawa returns to the snowy town he used to stay as a child seven years ago, under the roof of his cousin, Nayuki Minase, and her mother, Akiko Minase. Nayuki reintroduces Yuichi to his surroundings, during which, other characters are introduced to most of the main cast, if only in passing.

新生 Shinsei Rebirth

Outside the grounds of his high school, Light Yagami discovers a notebook that claims to be able to kill anyone whose name and face is known to its owner. He initially dismisses the so-called “Death Note” as a hoax, but, after testing its powers, he discovers that these claims are indeed real. The original owner, a shinigami named Ryuk, approaches Light and explains that the notebook now belongs to him. Since Light is the new owner, he is the only one who can see and interact with Ryuk. The shinigami also says that when Light’s time to die comes, Ryuk will be the one to write down his name in his book. Light decides to use the Death Note’s power to rid the world of evil and become the God of a new, peaceful world.

天国にようこそ! Tengoku ni Yōkoso! Welcome to Heaven!

The offline meeting turns out to be a suicide pact, and Tatsuhiro gets entangled in their scheme. Meanwhile, Misaki, Kaoru and Jōgasaki are able to put together what is happening, and rush to save the group.

“The One Being Sung” “Utawarerumono” (うたわれるもの)

After a climatic battle and the final pieces of Hakouro’s past being revealed, Hakouro makes a very difficult decision that will forever have an impact on the future.

オフ会にようこそ! Ofukai ni Yōkoso! Welcome to the Offline Meeting!

Tatsuhiro and Hitomi meet up with the other members of the internet group, and they head off to a beach island. The dark and grim atmosphere of the group makes Tatsuhiro suspicious of their true intentions.

“Traces of the Ancient Dream” “Taiko no yumeato” (太古の夢跡)

The episode begins with the fate of Kuuya being revealed. Hakuoro rushes to Onkami Yamukai to rescue Kamyu, but all is not as it seems. Hakouro’s true identity is confirmed and he remembers more of the Iceman’s heartbreaking story.

陰謀にようこそ! Inbō ni Yōkoso! Welcome to the Conspiracy!

Hitomi’s feelings of isolation lead her to join a mysterious internet group, where she makes up stories about being beaten up by her lover, for whom she imagines to be Tatsuhiro. Meanwhile, Tatsuhiro and Kaoru have finished making the game for NatsuComi and are preparing for the trip. It is shown that Hitomi is having dinner with Akira Jōgasaki, however she is disappointed to see him caring more about his work. Tatsuhiro is contacted by her, and the two spend the night, as he eventually finds out about the offline meeting.

“The Passing One” “Horobi yuku mono” (滅びゆくもの)

With the help of the rebels and Genjimaru’s military command the Tusukuru empire stops Kunnekamun and soon turns the tables of the war. Inside the castle of Kuuya the final battle ensues, but there are more factions at work than just Tusukuru and Kunnekamun…

ダークサイドにようこそ! Dāku Saido ni Yōkoso! Welcome to the Dark Side!

Yamazaki has another date with Nanako, but when he sees her with another guy, he does not believe her that it was just coincidence and leaves. Tatsuhiro and Kaoru decide that Misaki is being purposefully mysterious and misleading. They stalk her in order to find out her real motives. Tatsuhiro has a dream in which his appliances warn him that he will be doomed to be a hikikomori for the rest of his life if he falls for Misaki.

“Where the Heart Lies” “Kokoro no arika” (心の在り処)

The first heavy defeat in battle with Kuuya in the previous episode slows down the war. In the next, relatively calm, days Hakuoro remembers some of his past. Who really is the Iceman? Why does this “Mikoto” in his memories resemble Erurū so much? Genjimaru leaves Kunnekamun since he knows they are on a path to annihilation. He joins Hakuoro offering his guide for the armies. Genjimaru seems to be betraying Kuuya, but he acts this way since he wants to save her from the war. Understanding that, Hakuoro accepts his help. The first step is unite all the rebels left by Kunnekamun’s passage. In order to do that, Hakuoro arranges a mission to rescue the Oruyankuru. The old man is saved, but then he declares that Urutorii is the new Oruyankuru and retires.

夏の日にようこそ Natsu no Hi ni Yōkoso! Welcome to Summer Days!

Kaoru is crushed when he is turned down by a girl named Nanako Midorikawa, after inviting her to go a fireworks festival with him. She claims that she has an audition the same night, and Kaoru accepts this excuse but does not believe it. Meanwhile, Tatsuhiro is tormented by his newfound feelings for Misaki, and is so disturbed he can’t concentrate on writing a scenario. Tatsuhiro and Kaoru decide to showcase their game in the Summer Comiket, otherwise known as NatsuComi. Tatsuhiro later goes with Misaki to the fireworks festival.

“The Accursed Contract” “Imawashiki keiyaku” (忌まわしき契約)

As the forces of Emperor Kuuya descend upon Tusukuru’s capital, Hakuoro realizes that the evacuation is going to take longer than they have, and so decides to sacrifice himself to draw their attention away. However, Aruruu isn’t prepared to let this happen, and shows up riding Mukkuru. The immortal Mutikapa is able to attack the Avu-Kamuu without being hurt, but Aruruu is hit with a single blow and died. However, the pool of blood growing behind Aruruu begins to bring back Hakuoro’s memories, and new questions start arising in his mind: What is he? What unknown powers does he harbor?

中華街にようこそ! Chūkagai ni Yōkoso! Welcome to Chinatown!

Tatsuhiro is desperately attempting to clean his dirty apartment before his mother comes, and Misaki helps him. The two and Tatsuhiro’s mother later have lunch in a Chinese restaurant. When Tatsuhiro leaves to go to the bathroom, his mother tells Misaki that she knows this was all a setup because she could always tell whenever he was lying. Tatsuhiro overhears this and starts feeling even guiltier. However, in his presence, his mother goes along with the story and does not give Tatsuhiro a chance to clear himself. Tatsuhiro and Misaki later get carried away with their fake relationship.

“The Great Seal” “Daifūin / On Rīyāku” (大封印)

Kuuya, convinced by her bloodthirsty advisers, starts a war against every nation in order to unite the whole continent. Soon the war reaches Hakuoro’s empire. The avu-kamuu of Kuuya seem unstoppable, and Hakuoro decides to evacuate the capital.

モラトリアムにようこそ! Moratoriamu ni Yōkoso! Welcome to the Moratorium!

Traumatized by his latest panic attack, Tatsuhiro refuses to leave his apartment. Under the guise of a summer flu, he gets Kaoru to buy him his daily necessities. Later, he is surprised by a phone call from his mother who tells him that she would like to visit him and discuss his future. He prevaricates, fearing the assumptions of his mother, claiming that he has a job and a girlfriend whom he plans to marry. This leads Tatsuhiro in even deeper trouble, and he gets Kaoru to help him create a fake video game developing company. Misaki later volunteers to be his girlfriend.
