A lack of space for all of Jindai High’s student organizations prompts a review of each group’s numbers. Because they only have two members, the social science club agrees to give up their room through a contest to see which club can recruit the most members of the opposite gender. Sousuke participates, but his poor social skills fail to attract anyone to his club. Kaname, feeling sorry for Sousuke, decides to help out so he can avoid a bet he made with another club.

“A Fancy Without Honor or Humanity” “Jingi Naki Fanshī” (仁義なきファンシー)

Sousuke and Kaname discover that Ren Mikihara is a yakuza daughter whose members ask for their help to deal with a rival gang. Sousuke, in his mascot disguise, trains the yakuza members. When the rival gang kidnaps Kaname and Ren, Sousuke and his recruits rescue them wearing the special mascot AS.

“A Goddess Comes to Japan (Part 2: The Hot Spring)” “Megami no Rainichi (Onsen Hen)” (女神の来日(温泉編))

Sousuke, Kaname, Tessa, Kurz, Melissa, and their friends travel to an onsen (hot springs) for some rest and relaxation before Tessa returns to Merida Island. Sousuke sets up a defensive perimeter and booby traps around the girls’ bath, foiling the other boys’ attempts to sneak a peek.

During a lull at the Mithril base after the events of the first season’s final few episodes, Tessa decides to spend the time as an exchange student at Jindai High to learn more about school life. Sousuke, however, finds the stress of guarding her overbearing and collapses from fatigue.

“The Warcry of Excessiveness” “Yari Sugi no Wōkurai” (やりすぎのウォークライ)

To prevent the school from disbanding the rugby team, Sousuke and Kaname help train them for an exhibition match against a rival school. Upon discovering that the players are timid and passive, Sousuke subjects them to grueling basic training to toughen them up, which helps them win the match.

“The Patient of Darkness” “Kurayami no Peishento” (暗闇のペイシェント)

Sousuke and Kaname investigate bizarre incidents where a masked predator attacks schoolgirls and gives them ponytails. With the help of a local policewoman, they set up a trap to catch the attacker using Kaname as bait.

Sousuke and Kaname ask the school’s karate club to vacate their dojo, which is slated for demolition. However, the club refuses to leave, challenging Sousuke to a duel where they’ll leave if they lose. Sousuke defeats the club’s members with relative ease until he faces the club’s captain.

During a field trip to the park, the class selects Sousuke to be the model for their art project. However, Sousuke misinterprets the modeling advice he receives from their art teacher, turning the assignment with his classmates into a game of life-and-death.

“Summer Illusion of Steel” “Kōtetsu no Samā Iryūjon” (鋼鉄のサマーイリュージョン)

During a day at the beach, Kaname becomes upset at Sousuke’s insensitivity. When she goes off alone, she is asked to have tea with a boy who is enamored with her. Sousuke, however, believes that she was kidnapped and proceeds to rescue her from her apparent kidnappers.

After Sousuke causes a panic at the school’s bread stand, Sousuke and Kaname have to fill in for the stand’s lunchtime duties, which raises the ire of the physical education teacher. He attempts to sabotage their bread, but he falls for Sousuke’s booby traps, when Sousuke was expecting that someone would tamper the bread.

“The Man From the South” “Minami Kara Kita Otoko” (南から来た男)

“A Hostage With No Compromises” “Dakyō Muyō no Hosutēji” (妥協無用のホステージ)

A secret admirer leaves a love letter in Sousuke’s shoe locker. Instead of finding the letter, he deduces that his locker was tampered with and promptly blows it up. From its fragments, Sousuke misinterprets the letter as a death threat and confronts his “stalker”.

ちぃ だけの人 Chii Dake no Hito The Person Only For Chi

Chi has chosen Hideki as her “one and only,” and Freya has taken control from within Chi. At Freya’s request, Hibiya issues the command to shut them down and delete their programming, heedless of Hideki’s protests. Hideki then tells Chi/Freya that he loved her and tells her the meaning of happiness. Freya accepts that Chi has done the thing Freya couldn’t do while alive: to find her “one and only.” Freya subsides and disappears, leaving Hideki and Chi to live happily ever after.

ちぃ 決める Chii Kimeru Chi Decides

Ms. Hibiya secretly leaves Chi the fourth book in the “A City With No People” series. Hideki meets with Shinbo and shares his feelings for Chi. He realizes he loves Chi, and back in Hideki’s apartment, when Chi tells Hideki that she loves him, he also tells her that he loves her. At this point, something triggers in Chi, and she flies out of the apartment window and onto the roof of the building. Finding Hideki and Chi on the roof, Hibiya reveals that she is Chi’s mother. She tells Hideki that Chi is a Chobit, and that Freya, the “familiar voice” other Persocoms had been hearing during Chi’s trances, was Chi’s sister who had died. Zima and Dita, two advanced Persocoms who had been observing from a distance for several episodes, wait nearby intending to stop Chi from launching her hidden program that they fear will destroy all Persocoms.

ちぃ 着てぬぐ Chii Kite Nugu Chi Wears And Takes Off

Hideki takes Chi to work. There, Chi changes into the wrong uniform. Ueda tells her it’s the wrong one, but before she goes to change, Yumi sees her wearing it from outside the shop and runs away crying. As it turns out, Yumi used to work at the store, and that had been her uniform. When Yumi was working for Mr. Ueda, the two had started falling in love, but when Yumi learned about Mr. Ueda’s previous marriage to a Persocom, she concluded that he believed Persocoms to be superior to humans, so she quit her job at his bakery and broke off the relationship.

ちぃ 答える Chii Kotaeru Chi Answers

Hideki and Chi help Shinbo move out of the apartment to live with Ms. Shimizu (who is now married to him). Then they arrive at Minoru’s house, where he is trying to find information on Chobits. Minoru, who has not been sleeping enough, passes out, and Yuzuki (Minoru’s custom-made Persocom) decides to try to hack the Chobits database herself.

ちぃ 求める Chii Motomeru Chi Wants

Chi is still missing, and Hideki is enlisting as much help as he can to find her. A strange e-mail image gets sent to him and Shinbo from the house of the infamous hacker “Dragonfly”. It turns out that this is Chi’s abductor, and he is carrying out research to find out what Chi is.

ちぃ 待つ Chii Matsu Chi Waits

Chi is still in the hands of her abductor as Hideki searches for her. After he talks to Mr. Ueda about Chi missing work, they decide to search for Chi together, and Mr. Ueda talks about his marriage to his last Persocom.

ちぃ いなくなる Chii Inaku Naru Chi Disappears

While Chi is on her way to work, she notices the third part of the book series “A City With No People” on the shelf of a bookstore. While she flips through the pages, she is grabbed from behind and is kidnapped. Hideki comes home from prep school and returns to find Chi missing.

ちぃ 手伝う Chii Tetsudau Chi Helps

Ms. Hibiya is cleaning the apartments, and Hideki and Chi offer to help her. When Hideki goes to clean the electronics room, Sumomo accidentally falls onto some wires and gets electrocuted. Ms Hibiya then reveals that she used to build Persocoms, and she repairs Sumomo.

稔·柚姫 語る Minoru·Yuzuki Kataru Minoru and Yuzuki Chat

Minoru and Yuzuki tried to find what Chi really is and search for clues about the creator of the Chobits picture. Yuzuki reviews with Minoru what they know about Chi, and the only thing they can conclude with the information they have is that Chi is not a normal Persocom. This episode is another recap of the events that have happened so far in the series.
