“A Bow of the Sky” “Sora no Yumi” (空の弓)

Embarrassed, Shiki goes down to meet Arcueid, who wants him to start helping her hunt vampires. They agree on a meeting time, and Shiki manages to leave home with the aid of Hisui, the other maid. After meeting Arcueid, she explains that she is hunting a vampire named Roa, who reincarnates by transferring his soul from host body to host body after he is killed. Shiki and Arcueid are confronted by a pair of dead humans under Roa’s control, and Arcueid quickly dispatches them. The next day, Shiki is confronted by Ciel, and she takes him to her tea room, where she tells him to be wary of Arcueid. Arcueid treats Shiki to dinner that night, but quickly leaves after seeing his blood.

二人だけの秘密 Futari dake no himitsu The Secret Between the Two

Jun’ichi re-examines his relationship with Nemu, and she explains why she dislikes Japanese sweets; because she was jealous of Sakura. Jun’ichi remembered how Nemu went missing and found her at the cherry blossom tree, and made a promise to stay by her side. Nemu confesses her love to Jun’ichi, and wanting to become more than just siblings they share a kiss.

“Garden of a Cradle” “Yurikago no Niwa” (揺籠の庭)

Shiki awakens in the Tohno household, and is scolded over breakfast by Akiha for being late the previous night. At school, Shiki is relieved to see that Yumizuka, who he had previously believed to be in the hotel when Nrvnqsr attacked, is safe. Shiki is given a party by Akiha, who formally welcomes her brother into the Tohno household. Shiki later converses with Kohaku, one of the maids, and learns that Akiha, despite her stoic demeanor, is pleased by Tohno’s presence. Later that evening, Shiki has a dreamlike sequence where Arcueid comes, craving for his blood. The next day at school, Arcueid arrives, calling for Shiki, much to his embarrassment.

届かぬ想い Todokanu omoi The Feelings That Fall Short

Nemu discovers Miharu’s secret when going to a theater together. Sakura and Jun’ichi reflect on the past together at her house, and Sakura tries to win Jun’ichi’s affections. She reveals how the main cherry blossom tree was born with magical powers that their grandmother planted. The cherry blossom tree that grants the people of Hatsune-Jima wishes for their desire which causes the island’s sakura trees to bloom everlasting. Nemu also reflects on how she was taken into Jun’ichi’s family and began to realise her own feelings for him.

“Mystic Eyes of Death Perception” “Chokushi no Magan” (直死の魔眼)

Shiki awakens in Arcueid’s apartment, where Arcueid explains the difference between the True Ancestors and the Dead Apostles, and how her mission was to slay the latter. She then implores into the nature of Shiki’s power, which she identifies as the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, enabling Shiki to see the fated destruction of an object, and erase it from existence. As a result, she employs a trap using herself as bait for Nrvnqsr, while Shiki will kill him when he arrives. As Nrvnqsr arrives, Shiki attacks him, but is quickly repelled. However, Nrvnqsr’s overconfidence allows Shiki to bypass his guard and kill him. As Shiki collapses, Arcueid kisses him on the forehead, thanking him for his work.

出来損ないの魔法使い Dekisokonai no mahōtsukai A Poor Excuse for a Magician

Jun’ichi has a dream about his grandmother, Yoshino; who taught him how to magically create Japanese confections. Nemu tries to ask Jun’ichi on a date, but Sakura invites him to her house on the same day and time. Nemu invites Miharu instead, improvising a story that she would stay at her friend’s house.

“Black Beast” “Kuroi Kemono” (黒い獣)

Shiki is terrified of the woman and flees. As he returns home after school, however, he sees her in front of the house, and he flees once more, only to be cornered by her in an alley. As she approaches him, they are confronted by a pair of demonic hounds, whom the woman easily slays. She then identifies herself as Arcueid Brunestud, a vampire, and that she is hunting another vampire in the city. The same hounds begin to attack the hotel they are in, and Arcueid, weakened due to needing to regenerate after Shiki killed her, is forced to face the vampire Nrvnqsr Chaos. With Shiki’s aid, the two manage to escape, and Arcueid recruits Shiki to help her kill Nrvnqsr.

At a young age Shiki Tohno was able to see lines that, if hit, immediately destroy the objects (including people) they were situated on. He was given a pair of glasses that blocked the lines from his sight by a mysterious sorceress, and was able to live a normal life. Years later, he moves back into the house of his sister, Akiha Tohno, after the death of their father. After talking about the strange serial killings in the city with his friends at school, Satsuki Yumizuka, Arihiko Inui, and Ciel, he sees a woman on his way home from school, and after falling into a dreamlike sequence, kills her. He awakens in his sister’s house, but on his way to school the following day, he sees the woman again.

Jun’ichi dreams about Nemu wearing his worn out shirt. As Nemu ponders the Asakuras’ finances, Miharu asks Jun’ichi to take her shopping. They run into Nemu, who does a little shopping of her own. Jun’ichi buys her a ring.

An accidental kiss from Midori reawakens Yuusuke’s past memories and feelings for her.

After a failed examination, Chigusa-sensei assigns Yuusuke to tutor Midori in the hope of bringing her grades up. As an incentive, she tells Midori that Yuusuke will give her a reward if her test results are above average.

外にでよう! Soto ni deyō! Let’s Go Outside!

While exaggerating the wonderful time of the outdoors, Jun’ichi, Nemu, Sakura, and Suginami try various plans to coax the hikikomori Yoriko outside by making Jun’ichi and Nemu act like a couple for her sake. Yoriko reveals how her mistress (Misaki) is always looking out at the world through her room window (but doesn’t specifically mention that she is her cat in form of a human now).

Chigusa-sensei organizes a late-night “test of courage”, with the boys and girls pairing off. To Midori’s dismay, Yuusuke draws Futaba as his partner. Reika sees this as an opportunity to bring Yuusuke and Futaba closer.

The school’s cultural festival is here, Sakura tries to set up her own Cosplay café. Miharu and Nemu hang out together. Suginami has Jun’ichi convinces Kotori to enter the beauty pageant in the cultural festival. Unfortunately, Jun’ichi also agrees to go to her recital and meet with Nemu at the same time. Reading his thoughts, Kotori lied her recital been canceled to have him spend time with Nemu instead. Kotori won the pageant, and later Jun’ichi secretly listens to her sing.

朝風呂ですったもんだ Asaburo de Sutta Mon Da Morning Bath Free-for-all

Alone in the outdoor bath, Reika delivers a surveillance report on Midori and her attempts to attract the interest of Yuusuke. Soon after “signing off”, she is joined by Chigusa-sensei and the rest of the girls.

謎のポエマー Nazo no poemā The Mysterious Poet

Various poems anonymously appear across Nemu’s path, from a secret admirer who is also an obsessive eavesdropper. In the end, the secret admirer guy deserts Nemu when realizing she thought he was a girl the whole time.
