Yukito explains to Misuzu the quest of the cursed girl with wings that had been in his family for generations. The next day Yukito’s puppet show only manages to attract a dog named Potato, while scaring others.

かぜ -breeze- Kaze: Breeze Breeze

Yukito Kunisaki arrives to the town in hopes of making money for food with his puppet show. He meets Misuzu Kamio, a strange girl living in the town. Misuzu manages to lure Yukito to her house with food at which after a discussion she offers him residence.

The club is depressed due to their punishment of community service. Sasahara becomes the new President and proposes that the society attend Comifes as a circle.

Kasukabe decides the club room needs a cleanup, but an accident causes Genshiken to be banned from the university fair. As an apology, Kasukabe takes Ohno’s place in the fair’s cosplay contest.

“The Fetishism of Leisure Time Expenditures Considered by their Economic Result” “Keizai Kōka kara Kangaeru Yoka Shōhi no Fetishizumu” (経済効果から考える余暇消費のフェティシズム)

The club, along with Keiko, pays a visit to the beach, much to the dismay of some of the members; Keiko decides to compete for Kohsaka’s feelings and tries to become an otaku.

It’s the school festival that day and everyone has something going on. Makoto and Tsutomu are having fun together until Shikouin has Tsutomu help her pass out fliers. Nozomi is in a play, Hinata is running a maze, and Wakaba and Minamo are both doing cafes. Later on, Minamo and Makoto go to see a play and, while leaving, run into Hikari. Hikari is no longer herself, however, but is now Aya. Makoto and Hikari seem to recognize each other, but later, when talking to Minamo, Makoto says he can’t remember Hikari’s face. She seems to have faded not just from everyone’s memories but also from pictures as well. She now lives on a new life.

Madarame is stuck in the club room with Kasukabe and tries to strike up a conversation, running through different scenarios in his head which parody the visual novel format.

“Comparative Study in Production Models and Processes” “Ryōsan-gata Seizō Katei ni okeru Hikaku Kenkyū” (量産型製造過程における比較研究)

Ohno and Sasahara start a plamo project and get the whole club involved, while Kasukabe learns an important lesson.

Two freshmen take an interest in Genshiken and join them for a night out on the town. Kasukabe, however, has no intention of making them feel welcome.

Kasukabe tries to make herself more appealing to Kohsaka by taking an interest in his hobbies by trying to learn how to play Puyo Pop Fever. Sasahara’s sister Keiko also makes an appearance and calls on her brother for help.

Due to Genshiken’s lack of “activities” as defined by the school, the club is threatened with closure; salvation comes from an unlikely source as Kasukabe intervenes personally.

“The Sublimating Effects of the Dissimulation Brought on Through Makeup and Costume on Mental Obstacles” “Funsō to Kasō no Ika ni yoru Shinri-teki Shōheki no Shōkasayō” (扮装と仮装の異化による心理的障壁の昇華作用)

Ohno is introduced as she joins Genshiken, while Genshiken takes part in a university club fair and Kasukabe’s ex-boyfriend pays her a visit.

“Problems and Merits of Local Culture Promotion” “Chiiki Bunka Shinkō no Mondaiten to sono Kōseki” (地域文化振興の問題点とその功績)

Genshiken goes on a club trip to Comiket, a large comic convention; Madarame seriously injures his hand, but pretends to be fine in the name of fandom until the pain becomes too great to bear.

“Comparative Classification of the Modern Youth through Consumption and Entertainment” “Shōhi to Yūkyō ni yoru Gendai Seishōnen no Hikaku Bunrui” (消費と遊興による現代青少年の比較分類)

Genshiken takes Sasahara to Akihabara for dōjinshi shopping while Kohsaka and Kasukabe go to Harajuku for clothes; Kasukabe discovers Kohsaka’s hentai collection and gets an introduction on the subject from the others.

不還 Fugen No Return ~ Erleuchtung (lit. Illumination)

Mariko regains the ability to use her vectors and stages one final meeting with Lucy. They meet, and Lucy goes into a state of shock after losing one of her horns. Kurama, accompanied by Nana whom he rescued after she fell off the bridge where she battled Mariko, encounters their fight. Here, Mariko realizes that Kurama is her father and meets him for the first time, beginning to cry after finally encountering her father, who appears to have abandoned her for Nana. Kurama exchanges final words of reassurance to Mariko just before the final bomb inside her is detonated, killing them both. The Director of the facility that had been holding Lucy, Nana and Mariko reveals that he is a diclonius. Lucy, who makes it out of the fight alive, reveals her remorse and emotion for Kohta and they kiss before she leaves to encounter the security team. However, Lucy’s ultimate fate is unknown except that her other horn is broken, although it is possible that she died as the shots of the guns continue, even after her horn is broken. The “family” of Kaede house, including Nana, settles down. As they are about to eat, Wanta barks at someone at the door. When Kohta goes to check, the music box playing “Lilium” stops and he sees a figure standing at the front door. He then hears the grandfather clock, which Lucy had repeatedly attempted to repair, ticking again.

“Study of the Modern Visually Oriented Culture” “Gendai ni okeru Shikaku o Chūshin to shita Bunka no Kenkyū” (現代における視覚を中心とした文化の研究)

An introduction episode explaining how Kohsaka, Kasukabe and Sasahara got involved with Genshiken; after some uncertainty, Sasahara decides to fully participate in the club.

泥濘 Deinei Quagmire ~ Taumeln (lit. Tumble)

The past which Kohta had tried to forget eight years ago comes back to him as he remembers that Lucy took revenge on Kohta’s lie about the gender of his cousin by killing Kohta’s father and his sister Kanae. As Shirakawa dispatches Mariko to kill Lucy, Bando is paid by Kurama to kill her as well. Mariko is about to kill Nana (as well as Kohta and Lucy), until Nana uses her vectors to deactivate Mariko’s and falls off the bridge, as Mariko’s vectors fail and she is taken away. Shirakawa discovers Lucy’s Nyu personality and identifies her as the target diclonius, only to be killed along with the security forces enlisted to guard against Mariko.
